Who we are
Ahmed M. Diab Ghanim & Company Ltd, trading as The Emporium, is the largest wholesale and retail distributor of textiles and household goods in The Gambia. The company was founded in 1971 by Mr. Ahmed M. Diab Ghanim and his wife, Alice Diab Ghanim as a small family business, but has now grown into one of the leading corporate entities in The Gambia, accumulating a host of important accolades from both state and non-state actors over the intervening years. The company was incorporated as a limited liability company in 1991 and its trading name was registered as The Emporium in 2005.

Profile of Shareholders
Ms. Feryale Diab Ghanim (Laly)
Feryale has served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Emporium since 1993 with her job description including overseeing the overall day to day operations and financial administration of the company. She holds a BA in Political Science from Mount Holyoake College in the United States of America. She is recognized as one of the leading women entrepreneurs and business leaders in The Gambia.
Ms. Farah Diab Ghanim
Farah is the Company’s Secretary and is a registered Architect by profession. She holds degrees from the Architectural Association and Westminster University, all in the United Kingdom. She worked with HKS Inc. in London, UK for a period of six years and also worked with the American International School in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as their Communications and Design Manager.
Mr. Fady Diab Ghanim
Fady is the logistics director of the company as well as the manager of the textile branch of the company. He holds a BSc in Business Economics & Computing and an MSc in Computing and Internet Systems. He has a strong background in textile operations and has main oversight responsibility over this important and most lucrative arm of the company’s business operations.
